This week was the start of the CST338 Software Design class. I have used Eclipse before in my Intro to Java class, which was also taught by Professor Cecil, as well as my Data Structures in Java class. Java is the language I am most proficient in so I am happy that this is the language used in this first programming class. This week's material started easy and manageable, as I have already learned these things and worked with Java before.
The textbook for this class is easy to read and understand. I have to keep in mind to set aside a lot of time for reading the material so I will fully comprehend it and will be able to apply it to the Java projects. A lot of time will also be dedicated to the programs due at the end of each week. The videos created by students are a great resource to explain the assignment and helps other students start off. To fully gain the most out of this class, I plan to spend the most time I can to learn the material, work on the projects, and keep in mind to be patient with myself and ask for help as the course becomes more difficult.
I am still unsure about which field in Computer Science I would like to pursue, but I am hoping that as I move ahead with all of my classes, I will learn new things and figure out which field interests me the most.
