CST499 - Week 5

This week we continued working feverishly on our capstone project. I worked on researching libraries for digital signatures and chose to use react-signature-canvas. I implemented the digital signatures so that managers and parents can sign the reports and the signatures will be stored in the database. We got to see all of the features completed and see how the site came together. We then started on styling and I worked on creating a custom theme for MUI and Bootstrap using PYC's logo and colors, as well as started to work on the login page.

This week we were also required to start usability testing. The team met with Dorrie Coman from PYC and presented a live, interactive demo, taking her through the user flow of the application and explaining each feature. She was very enthusiastic about the product and her feedback was extremely positive. She shared that this system would meet her needs exactly and is so user-friendly with handy features such as resetting passwords and emailing reports to parents. She is having a hard time obtaining approval for funding for deployment under PYC's new management but she is trying her best to work on that because she loves the project.

Lastly, we submitted Part II of our capstone report which included writing about the platforms we chose, design requirements, and our usability testing plan and evaluation.
