CST336 - Week 8

This week I started off by preparing for the final. I took the final on Monday because I wasn't able to take it on Saturday. I reviewed by reading through the Knowledge Check quizzes so that I would be able to answer correctly and quickly on the theory portion of the exam. Then I looked over the recent labs so I could refresh my memory and review how to do the important skills that I was sure to see on the final like using Express, making API calls, and connecting to a database.

This week, I also worked very hard on the final project which is due on Thursday. My group is creating an E-book Library website. The site will include a homepage, a page to browse for books and "check them out", a page to search for books by title, a login page, and a page that displays the user's account with the list of books checked out with an option to either view the ebook or return it. I am working on creating the homepage where I will display the library's logo, mission statement, some upcoming events, and use an API call to display this week's top book picks. I am also working on creating a search functionality so users can search for a book by keyword and all books with that keyword in the title will be displayed. Lastly, I am responsible for the general design and look of the webiste. I am using an orange and grey color scheme and I created a repeating background with different images of books to give the site a library feel. We did not finish yet, but here are some screenshots of our site so far.

I can't believe this class is over and I feel very accomplished at having learned so much and created so many websites to show off! Looking forward to the 2-week break to refresh and reenergize and then get back into the next class! I'm very proud of myself for completing half of the program! 1 year left! Woot woot!
