This week was the first week of the Internet Programming class with Dr. Miguel Lara. The first thing I did was to take the Pretest. I did not know most of the answers, so I know I am going to learn a lot in this course. It will be interesting to look it over at the end of the course to see how much knowledge I've gained in just 8 weeks!
Since I missed the orientation on Saturday, I watched the recording afterward. Dr. Lara introduced himself to the class and told the students what to expect in the course. Then he walked us through how to set up Cloud9, Heroku, and Github accounts and how to integrate the three together. It was great to get a feel for the course and get started.

We were also assigned some introductory readings about web servers, URLs, etc. Lastly, I completed the interactive Intro to HTML lesson/activity. I feel that I got a good foundation of HTML to start off the class. I also loved the style and format of the lessons with the questions in the middle.
So far, this seems like it's going to be a great class! Dr. Lara seems very knowledgeable and organized and the expectations for the class seem clear and reasonable. I am also really interested in this subject particularly and am excited to learn more!
