This week I really pushed myself and finished the complete 25 hours of service for Hatzolah of Los Angeles! The thing I tackled this week was interacting with the database to display the correct information when managing user call history. When the dispatcher enters caller information, there are checkboxes displayed that indicate whether the patient is awake and breathing. This data was not being properly recorded into the database and therefore not displayed correctly on the user call log. I looked through the code and stored procedures to determine the issues and propose changes. I am happy to be finished with my hours as the time commitment was very hard on me with all of my other responsibilities, but overall this was a very good experience!
In the other portion of CST462, we read about the digital divide and discussed it in the forum. Also, my team completed the "findings" portion of our research paper in which we highlighted common themes among our interviewees' responses.
In the design class, we started working on our final project. This week, we were tasked with creating an app concept and creating some lo-fi designs as well as some hi-fi samples. We presented all of our app information, including the purpose of the app, color scheme, and typography choices, in a JPEG to share with our classmates and receive feedback. I designed an app called Quick Admit which is a place for school administrators to keep track of admissions and applicant data.
