This week, I continued working on my service learning project with Hatzolah of Los Angeles. So far I have served for a total of 11 hours. Having finished with the design of the login page, I moved on to the main page where the calls are managed, data recorded, and volunteer EMTs sent to the scene of the emergency. I began with redesigning the icons on the page. The original icons look very old and I want to give the page a sharper, more modern look. Additionally, I fixed some tabbing errors that the dispatchers were facing. In an emergency, time is of the essence and it is easier to tab through all of the fields to record the necessary information like address, nature of the call, hospitals, etc. The tabbing would jump around and not follow the proper order, but I fixed it and now it works properly. For the other part of CST462, we read about inequality in housing segregation and my team continued with our research paper by writing our interview questions and a summary of our service organizations.

In CST328, we were assigned to create an app design with at least 3 screens. I did a spinoff of the Couch to 5K running app and made "Sofa to Sprinter." The first screen shows all of the weeks and days so the user can easily keep track of where he is up to in the program. The second screen describes the structure of the run, and the third screen allows you to see your progress with a bar and timer, along with additional information. I really like how my design came out and enjoyed doing it. I learned a lot of new things from the instructor's video that used including the pathfinder which was extremely helpful.
