This week, I started working on y service-learning project. I wasn't able to put in as many hours as I would have liked this week, but I did get started with 1.5 hours. Combined with last week's meeting and training I have served a total of 2 hours. So far, I have really been studying the existing code in depth. I have been looking through all of the code files, understanding how the website was built and designed, and keeping track of the different variables and methods used. Although it may seem like I didn't do much, I think that having a very good initial understanding of the code is an essential first step so that I will be able to manipulate it easily and understand what needs to be done. I hope to continue next week and be able to work for many more hours to catch up to my tentative schedule.

This week in the design class, we were instructed to create abstract geometric compositions in both grayscale and color. We learned about the Gestalt principles and different color schemes and incorporated these new ideas into our designs. I had a creative block the whole week and kept trying to work on the designs but didn't like anything I tried. The deadline forced me to just get it done, and I am happy with how they came out. My designs reflect the principles of symmetry, multi-stability, continutity, and proximity. I used monochromatic, triadic, and analogous color schemes.
