This week we learned all about security using OAuth2. When a user opens the front-end app, he/she will be prompted to log in. The user will be redirected to log in with their Google username and password. Upon submitting these credentials, the user will be redirected to the application. This process maintains the security of information and allows developers to ensure that users will only be able to access and edit the data they need to see. For example, with the gradebook application, an instructor will be authenticated and will only be able to add a new assignment for a course he/she teaches. This is a secure process because the React application, as well as the Spring server, do not see your password but can still reap the benefits of signing in with Google. With the professor's live sessions and instructions for Assigment 6, we learned the necessary steps to include this feauture in our aplication. We also had a quiz that reviewed the material from the past few weeks.
